GRACE NOYES, OWNER & FOUNDER

Following her lifelong dream, Grace realized her passion for teaching dance when she founded the Needham Dance Theatre in 1987. She nurtured and carefully grew her school one student at a time. She believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about themselves through a high quality dance education.  Each student should be challenged, supported and allowed to feel the unique joy that comes from the NDT dance experience. With almost 40 years of dance teaching experience, Grace has taught for the Weston Public Schools and at the prestigious Edra Toth School of Ballet, under the direction of Boston Ballet soloist Edra Toth. Grace studied ballet in New York City and as a BFA candidate at the Boston Conservatory and studied dance at Smith College.  Grace is mom to four children and is the owner and founder of our sister school, Millis Dance Theatre.

 

ANDI NEIL, DIRECTOR

Since 1995, Andi has skillfully directed the Needham Dance Theatre program and has taught dance at our studio since she joined us as an instructor in 1992. An accomplished performer and choreographer, Andi danced professionally through out America as well as abroad for eight years with the cutting edge jazz dance troupe, Impulse Dance Company of Boston. She is also a certified national gymnastics judge, and choreographs floor routines for award winning competitive gymnastics teams throughout Boston. Balancing her creative side, Andi has a B.S. in Engineering from Roger Williams College.  Along with her NDT family, Andi is the mother of three grown children.

JESSICA LUCE  Jessica has studied ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap  since she was a young child and is a graduate of Needham Dance Theatre.  She has earned a B.A. in dance at one the Boston area’s most respected dance programs at Dean College.  Our busy Jessica, coaches the award winning Dance Team at Needham High School at the JV level. With a vivacious personality and excellent training, Jessica is a natural teacher.  Her classes are a happy, encouraging place to learn and thrive.llege.  Our busy Jessica, coaches the award winning Dance Team at Needham High School at the JV level. REBEKAH BLAIR  
Rebekah’s (Bekah) teaching and choreographic credits include Charles River Creative Arts Program in Dover where she teaches dance and musical theater as well as Needham High School, Freelance Players, Inc and the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston. Bekah established and led the competition dance team at the Dana Hall School in Wellesley. Her early training was as a competitive dancer and choreographer for Kerry Smith’s Academy of Dance Arts.  Bekah has earned a B.A. with a double major in Psychology and Dance Education and Management from University of Massachusetts/Amherst. She also has her masters in Social Work, graduating from Simmons College. Bringing her positive attitude, beautiful choreographic style and over a decade of experience, Bekah works with our successful Needham Dance Theatre dance team. We are pleased to have her on our staff as she shares her boundless creativity with our students.

MARY DEMASO  Along with her ballet and pointe classes at Needham Dance Theatre, Mary is serving as Co-Artistic Director of the Dance Prism Company and teaches ballet at Ballet Academy of Concord. Mary auditions students every season, looking for dancers who may be ready for an invitation to perform “The Nutcracker” with her company as well as other classic ballets through out the year.  In addition to her highly respected position in the world of dance, Mary has been longtime faculty member of Simmons College where she taught dance, literature and poetry.  Dancers who have the good fortune to studying under Mary’s wise and creative guidance, have been said to “experience something special to cherish for a  lifetime”.

Niki returns to Needham Dance Theatre for our 2017 – 18 season! Niki is a vastly experience Hip Hop teacher who is known for her innovative choreography and compassion for each of her students.  Teaching at Suzanne’s Dance Connection of Burlington and leading EnMotion Dance Company/Cambridge, Niki studied performing arts at Suffolk University.  Our program is enriched by the addition of this talented teacher and dancer.

Lindsay Brown

LINDSAY BROWN 

Lindsay is an experienced faculty member at Walnut Hill School for the Arts.  An accomplished dancer, she has trained in Jazz and Contemporary at the Joffrey Ballet School and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Performing professionally in NYC with Next Stage Project, Leon Dance and Hutchinson Collective Dance Company, Lindsay has received various choreography awards.  She was a dance major at SUNY Buffalo where she performed in American College Dance Festival and was the recipient of the Lillian Frances Viles Dance Scholarship. We are please to have Lindsay join our NDT family teaching Jazz and Contemporary.

Maggie Foster is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance under Cathy Young where she had the opportunity to perform works by Cathy Young, Larry Keigwin, Paul Taylor, Jose Limon and Alwin Nikolais. Upon graduation, she began teaching various forms including ballet, pointe, and fitness while working as a professional performance artist. Maggie has performed throughout the Boston and NY area with Contrapose Dance, EgoArt Inc, and many other independent choreographers. She worked as a  choreographer alongside Caitlyn Schrader in productions such as ArtBeat and GreenWorks, and a co-produced a women’s choreographer showcase of short dances titled DanceShorts. Maggie has taught ballet from ages two through adult and loves every age. IMG_0527-webShe is a certified Power Pilates instructor and has a continuing fascination with how the body can grow and change with the right tools. She has an anatomical approach to ballet and a passion for providing students with the information they need for health and success at any age. Welcome to Maggie!

Screen Shot 2017-08-29 at 7.21.33 AMJENNA NIPPERT  Jenna studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe and Contemporary in the dance program at Dean College and was accepted into the renown Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Intensive Program. She currently performs with the Jo-Me Dance Company of Boston and teaches hip hop, acro, ballet, jazz and creative movement at the Foxboro YMCA.  She is a very popular Barre Method instructor where she combines her passion for ballet with an effective fitness workout.  Jenna’s love for teaching dance is apparent as she has dedicated herself to creating an inspiring, fun and enriching experience for her students.  We are please to have Jenna with us at Needham and Millis Dance Theatres this season.

DANIELLE SNYDER  Danielle has a BFA in Dance and a Minor in Communication from the University of Arizona  and has danced professionally with Houston Met Dance Company. Living in Houston, she taught ballet, jazz, and contemporary while training young student in the pre-professional youth program at Houston Met Dance Center. Danielle lead DramaZone, an organization that trains and distributes dance teachers to schools in all boroughs of NYC. Along with her teaching responsibilities at Needham Dance Theatre, Danielle is a certified barre instructor at Pure Barre and teaches dance at Solomon Schechter Day School.  Welcome to Danielle!
